RBL Check for Mail Servers

Trace a mail domain to its MX hosts and public addresses, or inspect a mail host/IP directly. Then query four documented email-relevant DNS blocklists and retain the evidence behind every result.

  • MX-aware routing
  • Exact DNS return codes
  • PTR / FCrDNS context
  • No email is sent

Run an RBL check

Target type

Enter the domain that receives mail. MX hosts and their public addresses will be discovered first.

Examples:
  • 1 public address per runAll other discovered addresses stay visible and are marked not checked.
  • 4 documented RBLsDroneBL, SpamCop SCBL, PSBL, and blocklist.de.
  • 12 calls is a hard ceilingNormal runs use fewer; starts are paced after the first four.

Coverage and provider scope

A deliberately bounded set—not a claim to cover every reputation system.

DroneBL

IPv4 and IPv6 DNSBL focused on compromised and abusive hosts; replies are category-coded.

Lookup and removal

SpamCop SCBL

IPv4 source list based on spam reports. SpamCop describes it as aggressive and time-sensitive.

Policy and removal

PSBL

IPv4 passive spam blocklist. Verify any observed listing at the provider’s official site.

Lookup and removal

blocklist.de

IPv4 abuse-reporting list with category-specific 127.0.0.x response codes.

Delisting guidance

Mail-routing caveat: MX records identify inbound receivers, not necessarily the IPs a domain uses to send outbound mail. Use direct mode for a sender named in an SMTP rejection. For a single-IP-only view, Octetify’s IP Blacklist Check is the focused alternative.

Interpretation: Results are point-in-time DNS observations. No match applies only to a completed lookup in the four lists above; failures, conflicts, rate limits, unsupported families, and capped addresses remain inconclusive or untested.

Boundaries: Spamhaus and Barracuda are intentionally not queried because their public-lookup access and usage terms do not fit this shared endpoint. No safety score is calculated.

Privacy: The browser sends your target to Octetify’s same-origin DNS API. That service makes public DNS queries, so authoritative DNS and RBL operators can receive the queried domain or reversed-address name. The diagnostic uses no client storage, credentials, SMTP connection, or email transaction. Ordinary site analytics remain governed by the Privacy Policy.
