What Octetify provides

Octetify provides browser-based network and DNS diagnostic tools. The service is offered without an account and may use third-party infrastructure to perform some measurements. Features, limits, and availability may change over time.

Permitted use

You may use Octetify for lawful diagnostic, educational, and administrative purposes. You are responsible for the names, addresses, values, and other information you submit and for having permission to test systems where permission is required.

You must not:

• use the service to break the law, invade privacy, or harm another person or system;
• attempt to bypass rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions;
• interfere with the service or place an unreasonable load on Octetify or its providers;
• submit secrets, private network details, or other information you are not authorized to disclose; or
• misrepresent diagnostic results as proof of ownership, security, availability, or legal compliance.

Diagnostic results

Results are point-in-time observations from the available resolvers, probes, authoritative servers, and software. DNS caching, GeoDNS, routing, filtering, timeouts, provider errors, and later changes can affect them. Results are informational and are not a guarantee that a configuration is correct, secure, globally available, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Verify important changes independently before relying on a result in production, security, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.

Third-party services and links

Some features use third-party services, including Globalping for distributed network measurements and Matomo infrastructure for site analytics. Their own terms, policies, limits, and availability may apply. Octetify is not responsible for third-party services or external websites.

Shared reports

If you create a report link, you are responsible for deciding who receives it. Report links are unlisted, not access-controlled accounts. Anyone with the link may be able to view the report until it expires.

Intellectual property

Octetify's site design, branding, and original software and content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership to you. You retain any rights you have in information you submit.

Availability, suspension, and changes

We may maintain, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service. We may block traffic or use that appears abusive, unlawful, unsafe, or disruptive. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

No warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Octetify is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or availability. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Octetify and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost data, revenue, profits, business, or opportunity arising from use of or inability to use the service. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the service.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The effective date above identifies the current version, and continued use after an update means the revised terms apply. Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected. For questions about these terms, email [email protected].
